Robert Cassandro - My law practice concentrates in the areas of business and real estate transactions, solar and renewable energy law, and estate planning/asset protection. I received a Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School in 1989 and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a concentration in Finance, from Boston University in 1986. I am a member of the Bar in both New York and Connecticut. I am also admitted to practice before U.S. District Court, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Prior to co-founding Abelow & Cassandro, LLP, I was in-house counsel to a Fortune 500 corporation where I worked on energy related transactions involving complex business, real estate and regulatory issues.

As in-house counsel for the Long Island Lighting Company, a Fortune 500 energy company/utility, I devoted my time to negotiating and executing energy related transactions and adjudicating regulatory issues relating to electric power and natural gas transactions, independent power projects, fuel storage, project finance, computer software and construction contracts, and emission allowance trading.
